Bayer Visiting Scholars are leaders in plant breeding or in a related field. They are invited to spend several weeks to a full year at the Plant Breeding Center to:
- Interact in meaningful ways with faculty, postdocs, research staff, and students;
- Give seminars, teaching special courses, offer input to graduate students on their thesis research, and develop collaborative research projects or grant proposals with faculty; and
- Develop professional collaborations that will last well beyond the duration of the leave.
Alison Bentley, who is currently deputy director of Centre for Entrepreneurial Agri-Technology at the Australian National University, was the center's visiting scholar in fall 2023. Read about Alison's visit here (see page 30).
Alain Charcosset, who is a research director at an INRAE station (French equivalent of USDA-ARS) near Paris, was the center's visiting scholar in fall 2022. Read about Alain's visit here (see page 38).
This program is made possible by generous support from Bayer Crop Science.
